Mendocino Railway Selected as Rail Bike Vendor

The Nevada State Railroad Museum Boulder City has announced that Mendocino Railway has been selected as the vendor that will provide rail bike tours utilizing the museum’s track, as part of a new lease agreement.

The new lease was a result of a wide Request for Proposal as required by state law. Mendocino Railway will operate as a vendor with the museum for five years, with the possibility of two five-year extensions. The museum’s contract with its previous vendor expired in 2020.

“The museum is thrilled to continue offering a quality rail bike tour for our guests that blends seamlessly with the outdoor recreation activities Boulder City is known for,” said museum director Dr. Christopher MacMahon. “Mendocino Railway’s operations meet the museum’s high standards for safety and customer service. We look forward to welcoming them to the museum and our wonderful community.”

New rail bike tours are anticipated to begin in May of 2023 following contract approval from the Board of Examiners and the Interim Finance Committee of the Nevada Legislature.
