Now Hiring Rail Bike Guides

The Nevada State Railroad Museum Boulder City is seeking rail bike guides to lead tours beginning Fall 2025.

Pay: $18:00/hour
Hours: 35 hours per week
Benefits: No
Nights/Weekends/Holidays: Yes

The Rail Bike Guide is responsible for facilitating rail bike tours from Boulder City to Railroad Pass and back while providing information and superior customer service.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare bikes for tour at start of shift and put bikes away at end of shift.
  • Welcome guests for tours.
  • Facilitate safety briefing for guests.
  • Provide educational information to guests.
  • Answer guest questions.
  • Help guests safely load and unload from rail bikes.
  • Lead bike tour checking for obstructions along the route.
  • Watch guests on bike tours to ensure their safety and correct unsafe behavior as necessary.
  • Turn bikes around at mid-point and end of tours.
  • Note any maintenance defects.
  • Assist in providing guest service for other museum visitors.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Rail Bike Guides will be required to obtain an on-track worker license in compliance with 49 CFR part 214 and pass an operating rules safety exam with a passing grade of 90% or higher. This position requires walking in gravel and uneven surfaces and works outdoors for the entire shift year-round.
